First of all, I would like to thank my wonderful sister Florence who has always been supportive regardless what everybody told her about my crazy project. You are my inspiration, my model, my pain in the ass sometimes, but above all, you are the most careful and loving person I know. Love you!
Special thanks to my readers and followers, I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I hope I entertained you with my adventures, my wonder at the sight of so much beauty, my rants sometimes and the pictures I shared. It's my way to take you with me when I travel.
I also want to thank the friends I left behind in France and abroad and who never failed to be there when I wanted to communicate, who took some news or helped when I needed: Vouniou (my Poutine addict), Vinciane (my fellow traveller), Charlène (my favourite cook), Fabien (my clown), Clément (my computer master), Matthieu (my return ticket and future wed), Sophie (my Best), Val (my video master), Marina (my personal nurse), Lucilette (my living soap opera), Jess, Aline & Mélusine (my crazy colleagues), Bettina (my globe-trotter inspiration), Marlène & Anne-Claire (my coupiiiines), Céline (my Céline Dion addict), Vincent (professional volley player).
And last but not least, I want to thank all my travel buddies. We shared so much. It could be one drink, one night, a week or a month, I enjoyed every minute of it! You've been appearances, guess stars, recurring characters in my blog but most of all, you're in my heart. I made some amazing new friends.
In order of appearance:
- Tomas aka sexgod: for always being positive and motivated
- Michael: my life saver. You've been so comforting and helpful!
- Lena: crazy Berliner. Feels like I've known you for ever. You're the sweetest!
- Robin: because I'll always remember you slept in a tent in the jungle for me, threatened by the freaky dragon.
- Ares: the one and only guy who keeps driving his motorbike after being hit by a bus. You are the best! Poutine for ever.
- Benji: for this great week-end we had in Ho Chi Minh and for supporting me during the karaoke session.
- The Ikea girls: Al&Mo, Alva & Moa. Always laughing hard and singing - more or less in tune. The most Parisian Sweds I've ever met! Wait for me.
-The French team: Camille & David - my fellow southerners and the most curious travellers I met. You gave me the craziest nicknames (Philibert, Fillipo, Pol Pot, Filipetti...) Carole & Gaspard - I will always miss our toilet conversations! Especially the showerette tutoriel. You are the cutest couples. We shared so much, we made a hell of a team!
- The Poutine girls: Marie-Philippe & Laila. I wish I had more time to complete my French/Québecois dictionnary. I laughed so hard with you girls. I wish we could go on tour with our water show...
- The Kangaroo team: Melanie & Jack. I miss sharing donuts with you guys! The burger experience was neat too. And you made my last night in Bangkok memorable!
- Alice & Chester: my first Asian victims, and the best partners to discover Myanmar.
- Tom: for accepting being my roommate so long, I know it's not easy. And for all the adventure: train, bridge, trekking in the mud, boat crash, scooter, deserted highways and spooky amusement park... It was a blast!
But also:
- Luis: you're the first travel buddy I shared a bucket with on the beach.
- the Fish & chips: Adam and Emma. Without you I would never have made it to the top of the Tiger cave.
- The Dutch girls: Malua and Marcia. Because you save me from the freaking Israeli woman on Poda Island.
- Eve and co.: for the amazing typical Vietnamese week-end we spent together.
- Phone: my one and only Monk friend. You tought me so much! I wish that your dreams will come true and you will go to Toulouse some day.
- Jonas: I can never forget the killing fields and the prison S21. That was tough but fascinating.
- Silvia: the luckiest person on earth. Still waiting for the pictures though ;-)
- Marie & Laura : one day in Hanoi and Marie fell asleep at the puppet show. Very nice surprise!
- Solene & Angelique: because you always bump into the right people by serendipity. You saved me from Quasimodo that night and I owe you for that!
- Kate & Max: because Sapa was the best thing I've done in Vietnam and we shared that incredible moment.
- Gina: for reminding me there are still people you just can't travel with :-)
- Miriam: for this amazing and unexpected day in Yangon, especially the abandoned amusement park. Hope we can meet again in Paris.
- Yvette: you made me want to travel even more. El Camino for ever!
Is this the very end of something, or is it just the beginning? I choose the last option. See you soon for new adventures. Stay the way you are and keep enjoying your life!
XOXO
Philippe
